Boilの1區 Frontier VPS

今天来测试一下BoilCloud的美国Frontier (Verizon) 静态家宽新品,定位是落地家宽+性能机器。机器IP直属Verizon。

Verizon是美国大型综合电信公司,既做手机运营商,也做家庭宽带、企业网络,Frontier主要做家庭/企业固定宽带的区域运营商,这俩都是有家宽业务的。Verizon把一批家宽线路卖给Frontier,Frontier运营和扩建多年,最后Verizon又把Frontier整家公司买了。现在Frontier已经是 Verizon 旗下公司。但是部分数据库仍然保留着Frontier的数据,所以你会在测试结果中看到这个IP的ASN归属有的库是Frontier有的库是Verizon,其实都是一家了,无所谓的

常见配置如下,本次测试的具体配置为1區-靜態 Frontier 1000Mbps VPS,产品流量用尽后可以工单免费重置流量,默认设置为5T/月

网络质量

三网勉强可以直连,IP本身直属Frontier/Verizon,肯定是没有任何中国优化网络的,这个IP在家宽里算是网络不错的,闲时丢包不算特别严重(5%),直连有100Mbps的速度,但是还是建议作为纯落地使用来提升稳定性,直连断流还挺明显的。这个产品最大的特色就是超大带宽,其他家还在50-200Mbps挣扎的时候,这款产品已经500Mbps起步,最大可达2000Mbps。我们测试的是1000Mbps款的,用洛杉矶中转延时大概在5-10ms(机器位于加州安大略),可以轻松跑满1000Mbps,重传较低,中转质量不错,比较稳定。

IP质量

IP质量优秀,IP上游直属Frontier/Verizon,原生IP+常规流媒体基本解锁+滥用标记极少,表现非常亮眼的家宽/商宽IP,崭新出厂

机器性能

机器整体性能很强,在家宽机器中是少有采AMD Ryzen 7 7840HSCPU的产品,IO 性能表现也相当不错,综合性能甚至比不少主打性能的 VPS 还要强,这一点无疑是个加分项。不过套餐给的内存和硬盘容量偏小,整体配置存在比较明显的“头重脚轻”。中低配只有1C1G或2C2G,硬盘也统一只有16GB,很容易限制这套硬件的实际发挥。相比CPU/IO性能够不够用,用户购买前反而更应该考虑的是内存够不够、硬盘够不够用

比如我购买中低配之后,如果想安装 Windows,16GB 硬盘本身就比较紧张,再加上只有 1GB 或 2GB 内存,即使能够安装运行,实际使用体验也很容易因为内存不足而变得卡顿。这样一来,强劲的 CPU、IO 和高带宽反而没有太多发挥空间,说实话有些浪费。如果套餐能够从2C4G左右起步,哪怕CPU或IO性能弱一些,我觉得实际可用性反而会更高,能够覆盖的应用场景也会广泛很多。
